What are the sites that help low income families with housing, rent payments, buying a home, etc...

I am not asking for myself,but for my friend Mariyn.

She is a wonderful lady,in her 80's and her son

is incarcerated and she needs help to pay her

property taxes this year $4000.00. Please can

we help her somehow.She is always helping others,

but now she needs help.

I am foremost a mother of three boys.  They are 11, 9 & 6.  The oldest two have each have a different form of Autism.  The oldest one has a version called Aspergers and the middle one has the more common version of Autism.  The youngest of the three had over developed tonsils and adenoids which were removed last fall.  The partial blockages caused hearing & speech imparments and sleep apnea.  He is still struggling with the effects of the speech and learning delays and is still trying to catch up to his peers in school.

My husband is not currently employed.  He can work in the auto mechanic or construction fields, but we live in Michigan and the economy here is not good.  People are just not spending a dime more than they need to these days.

I have a part time job at an ice cream store as an office assistant.  The business is being sold, the owner is retiring and I will lose my job very soon.

I need some help finding grants for some medical bills, utilities and other expences. 

I am looking for help finding grants for a new furnace/air conditioner for our house.  Two of the boys and I have athesma and our furnace is in need of replacement.

I am looking for help finding grants for purchasing affordably priced rental property for the elderly with the necessary upgrades to aid them. (Example: hand rails in the bathroom, etc.)

I would like to thank those who contribute to my journey down this path.  Blogs & chat groups & asking of others is new to me and I appreciate the sign posts in the right directions by those who know.

The government is trying to take my Dads property becuase I am filing for bankruptcy. My mom died a fews years ago and I was left witht taking care of the details. This set me back quite a bit and as a result I had no other choice but to file for bankrutpcy. I have never had a problem before and even tried to work out payment options with the creditors however they were not interested in what I could pay. At one point my Dads farmland was in my name now the government is going to try and take the property to pay my debts. This is killing me and I don't know what else to do. I do have an attorney but he feels as though the government will be able to do it. If I can come up with the money the government will back down. I don't wan the money for free maybe a loan that I can afford. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you all. 

   I would like to know if there any grants available for purchasing rental property for income purposes? Looking at 2 or 4 family units. If grants are available for commercial property that would fit my needs also. I am in Rochester, NY and am looking to make this a business in addition to my full time job. Any info. would be appreciated

My father passed away 3 years ago December, without a will. I am fighting with my step-mother who has never settled the estate (I live on part of the property my dad was going to leave to me).  I can't afford to pay my lawyer to get this over with and will need to pay off a mortgage on the property when I do get my lawyer paid.  Are there grant programs that will help to pay lawyer fees and mortgages on property? Or am I just wasting my time sifting through all these web pages?  Thanks for any help or advice
